Good Points
NONE! Absolutely awful

Bad Points
Terrible website, poor navigation and impossible to checkout without agreeing to open an account at pay £3.50 for their Directory!

General Comments
It's 4 days before Christmas and I decide to buy my wife a couple of things from the Next website. Talk about bad idea!

I spend about an hour shopping on their site and find three items I wish to purchase. I then proceed to checkout and find an unreal hurdle ..... They want me to pay £3.50 for a book I don't want and open an account .... why??

I look for ways to get passed this but there isn't any. Bemused, I pick up the phone and speak to sales who were less than helpful really, or interested ....

Anyway, I proceed to place my order. I hand over the codes and get asked for my account number ... (dont have one..) . I mention the shoddy website and lack of account number and they tell me I can pay by card. ....

They ask what card I would like to pay by .. I answer, Switch. They respond saying they only accept Visa or Mastercard!!

At this point, I hung up. Rude I know, but I was so sick of the hurdles placed before me and attempts to rip me off with things I didn't want or need, I instantly decided to shop elsewhere.

POOR, POOR, POOR. They must lose so much money by not catering for all the blokes out there who don't buy from Next normally but need a prezzie for the missus!

PLEASE remove the ridiculouse procedure and stop assuming everyone has a Next account. They don't, but some people do want to buy your products ......

WEBSITE: 2 out of 10 (great zoom)

LAYOUT: 2 out of 10 (cluttered and confusing)

CHECKOUT: 0 out of 10 (the worst I have seen)

OVERALL : 4 out of 30

Moushka D's Response to webgeeze's Review

I have to say, although I don't like paying for a catalogue or having to open an account, with Next Directory it is a catalogue, so therefore you do have to open an account.

I have never found it a problem to navigate the web site at all, and I actually found it to be very easy.

I also think they accept Switch now.

And I have to say that customer service is great whenever I have dealt with them, but if you don't have an account or don't want to open an account then how can they help you? I think you can have items ordered and delivered to your local Next store, thereby saving the delivery cost. As to whether you need an account for this, I don't know, but I would assume so.
