General Comments

I have owned the Nakamichi Cassette Deck 1.5 for around a year now. I bought it because I still have a very large cassette collection and a cassette deck in my car (it's a company car so I can't change it). The recordings are excellent, and the playback is very faithful, clean and clear. The sound is very 'analogue' - quite refreshing in this world of scratchy sounding MP3 players and over-forward CD's.

People rave on about Nakamichi and they don't disappoint. Certainly a good alternative to a new budget Yamaha or other deck.

Hello b3rtie......I'm shortly replacing my ageing Trio cassette deck and would be most interested where you obtained your Nakamichi - I've always fancied one.
Btw, agree with you about CD sound - once an analogue man, always an analogue man I always say!
    Merry Christmas friend.

The deck was 'found' on a for sale board at work. I was able to take it home and check the condition and do an A-B comparision with another deck. My deck appeared to have had light use and the heads were in good condition.
Naks on ebay are plentiful but you cant look or try first. Classique Sounds, or similar older specialist hifi shop, may be your answer. Try finding a copy of HiFi world magazine as there are ads in there or try hififorsale.com.

    Hope this helps!
