Accuracy and tremendous power, even with 10.5 grain Gamo TS-10 pellets.
Need to attend a gym for a couple of weeks to be able to cock this gun.
After having bought the Gamo Hunter 1250 from Suburban Guns in Cape Town in April of this year, I can truly say, that compared to my CFX Royal, this gun makes it look like a toy. I have not had the chance to go hunting with it as yet, as I own a Webley Venom Viper and a FAC Webly Raider (both single shots), as well as a Gamo CFX Royal.
The chronographed results obtained with this gun is simply astonishing...
Gamo Pro Match 7.4 gr = 1165 fps
Gamo Pro Magnums 7.4gr = 1170 fps
JSB 8.4gr = 1080 fps
Gamo TS-10 10.5 gr = 1007 fps
These were all the averages of 20 shot spreads conducted at sea level. I still want to conduct a test with 9.6 gr Terminator II air bullets to see how they chronograph.
I've shot cow soup bones at 20 metres, and in an unfrozen state they all disintegrated.
Please exercise caution when using this rifle as it is NOT A TOY.
Don't bother using anything less than 10gr pellets. The supersonic bang will scare your quarry straight into their burrows. In fact at our first FT shoot in August 2005, upon chronographing this rifle, all the chaps thought I was using a .22 rimfire. They could not believe the figures on the the chrony.
Lastly, this rifle is not meant for rats or smaller species of vermin due to the overkill potential. Even at 50 metres it still produces 12ft/lb plus of energy.
This gun is a true hunter in every sense of the word.
Incidentally the CFX Royal pushes the TS10 pellets at 700fps.
