General Comments

Being a 'seasoned driver' - I've owned (1st car) 66 Triumph Spitfire, 3 Alfa Romeos (2 Spyders, 1 Berlina), 2 Nissan 280 Zs, 3 Mazda RX7 (including 93 twin turbo), 3 Miatas, Beck Spyder (Porsche 550 clone but faster), Porche Boxter, and now the 06 Mini S.
The Mini is the best buy for the buck. The fun factor of this car is extraordinary. It is a small, torquey, quick as a racing kart (which I did for years) fun car. If it holds together, I'll keep it forever. These cars are not for someone wanting to be trendy, you'll get tired of it. If, however, you are a serious sports car enthusiast, you will not only appreciate the car but love it.

well sir i will have you know i have owned two ladas one scoda, old style, two fiat pandas one of which had a hub cap, a morris minor, i raced carts back in nam and find the new mini to be rather predictable and a touch feminine. i find your review to be lacking in expertise. if i could reccomend a fine machine that would tickle any true motoring fanatics fancy it would have to be a mint condish volvo 240 g reg. this mechanical masterpiece has been at the fore front of dynamic design and innovation for generations and handles like david seaman. please readers only digest good info from true motorists like myself and not a yupee alfa owner. sincerely adolf.

So, is this Volvo sports car available in the U.S.? I, myself would compare the fun factor of the Mini Cooper S to my old '84 Fiat X1/9. It's like having super glue tires going around corners!
