General Comments

My GA-7VRX is running an Athlon Palamino 1900 Mhz processor , with 256 Meg DDR Ram (un-certified), standard clock speed . I got round the lockup problem by hitting the reset button at the end of the first boot attempt. AGP card is a Gigabyte AG32S (Rage 128), a budget 3d model . The overclock utility for the rage 128 card fails to install correctly , another black mark for Gigabyte , I suspected the video card as faulty until I found this review site, thanks guys I can go back to my supplier and give them a hassle. The GA-7VRX was cheaper priced, but if I knew there was an AGP problem I would have picked another motherboard !

For all of you experiencing problems between your ga-7vrx mobo and geforce4 Ti 4200 here is the solution. Versions 1 and 1.1 of the mobo will not work with this video card. Revision 2 will work though. So, if you have a 1 or 1.1 (like I do) you have to contact gigabyte and they will have your board reworked...they wont replace or upgrade it. Go here to read about the problem and get the number to call. It has taken me close to a year to solve this issue.
