Good Points

Easy to use. Large turntable area. Overall low height goes under cupboards easily. Message screen reminds you to remove items when finished heating. Door mesh is black and easy to see through.

Bad Points

It has an annoying run-on cooling down feature, which is supposed to cool the components. It carries on making the same noise as if the microwave power is still on when you have removed whatever you have just heated and closed the door. Very worrying the first time it happens! Our previous Panasonic lasted for a long time without this feature.

General Comments

We recently replaced our last Panasonic Genius microwave oven when somebody damaged the waveguide shield. It was very old but still works fine, and is now in the loft as a spare. Our new Panasonic NNT553W microwave works very well, and seems to be well-made, although I read that replacing the lamp is a job for a trained technician, because it is accessed by removing the casing. Sounds expensive! The door has a black mesh which makes viewing what is inside the oven very easy - the last one was white and impossible to see through. I find the run-on feature annoying, although I guess Panasonic know what they are doing.
