The Sony connect software which you have to use is a joke!!!

General Comments

I bought the stylish Sony NW-A1000 MP3 player yesterday from the Sony centre. I was really happy with it. I got home and started uploading the music, but the Connect software is just giving me so much trouble. It's the most unstable software I have ever used in my life. It crashed so many times. I am sure it has nothing to do with my computer, because it's still top spec, and my Windows system doesn't crash. I've been online and found that I'm not the only one having this problem. So I took it back to the shop today and decided that I'm better off without all the frustration, especially for those wanting to buy the 6GB smaller version, I can imagine you'd want to swap music around quite often, and if you do use connect a lot, I won't recommend it, but if you go for the 20GB version, you might not need connect very much.

I got the Sony NW A1000 for Christmas and I am planning to return it SOON!! The Sony Connect software is absolutely RUBBISH and does not work properly at all!! Itunes is so much better!! I am very dissapointed with this since I was looking forward to downloading all these new tracks and transfering them onto my new MP3 player!!! I was first told in the Sony shop that the NW A1000 is Itunes compatible!! I was then told in another shop it is not. Relying on this new software for music is futile! I then called Sony Support and they were hardly any help at all!! STICK TO THE OLD IPOD I say!!!
