General Comments
I've just downloaded Skype 1.4 free of charge (7mb) and legged it to the shops to get a microphone headset. After speaking to my friend for a while who now has skype too, I can say that it is pretty good.
I bought £5 worth of call credit that allows me to call any phone number in the world for about half the price of a local call (not sure of costs exactly but it is cheap). See skype.com for details.
You can also rent a phone number based in other parts of the world too. This number allows land line users to call you on skype.
Other services are available such as voice boxes etc.
