General Comments

Well over the past 2 days I tried to sight the scope on my Crosman Remington Genesis 1000 for about an hour each day and I just figured out that the scope creeps slowly no matter how hard I tighten the mount, so I will just get another mount and hopefully it will work, thx for the links.

   deathb..,
   If the scope creeps in the rings themselves you could try thin strips of 2 sided tape (walmart has some made by scotch, clear) cut about 3/4" long x 3/8" wide, put in the inside of upper and lower scope rings...you could also try friction, gaffers or electrical tapes. As far as mounts If you have separate rings you could try a Gamo scope stop (available from Pyramid Air)
   Or go for a one piece mount (medium high should do) also cheap at pyramid...good luck.

   ya, the scope isnt creaping in the rings themselves, just the whole mount. Mine came with a one piece mount and I'm thinking thats why it creeps. I'm going out right now to a 2 piece mount because I think it will work better. I still don't know why mine came with a 2 piece mount. I ordered a couple months ago.

   ok, i still can't get the scope sighted, i don't think its the mounts i just think the scope sucks and isn't supposed to be used on spring rifles. The gun itself is fine, if ya wanna buy it don't get the scope with it just get the gun itself.

   DBB,
   The scope on mine is fine...You should call Crosman corp. and send the scope back for replacement on warranty....it probably is defective...thats what I'd do ...good luck!

   I'm having trouble sighting my Genesis in too. I think my trouble is the bolt that the barrel pivots on. It keeps loosening up. I have tightend it 3 times and it keep loosening. When it is first tightened it groups the pellets well. The more it loosens the bigger the pattern. I have shot it about 250 times. Has anyone else experienced this?

   jphonky I ended up taken it back to gander mountain and exchanging the gun. The new gun is fine. I notice on the new gun the bolt turns with the barrel, (the full movement of the barrel). On the old gun the bolt would turn a small amount.

   The barrel pivot bolt should not turn, the barrel pivots on a ball bearing inside. The shoulder bolt comes loose, that's what it does on my rifle. Unscrew the bolt and clean it up and apply locktite and let it sit overnight. This should take care of the sighting in problems. I know my rifle stays put now.
