Free Delivery [BEWARE]
No wonder delivery is free - I think the small child they paid to walk to my house with the CD has got lost in the snow!
Don't bother.
TESCO is more reliable.
No cheaper than other online stores.
I ordered a chart CD 10 days ago from HMV, knowing that as I had a week off work I'd be at home home to receive delivery. STILL WAITING. This is not an unusual CD - it's not rare, there is nothing special about it. I ordered it on a Saturday - 4 days later I received an email saying that payment had been processed and that "HMV have shipped your order". However, in the very same email it said the order was being processed for dispatch and should be shipped within 48 hours, and that "you will not be charged for any item until we have shipped it to you". Which part was not true? - ALL of it, as 10 days after ordering, I still have not received it and the payment has definitely been taken (on the same day the email was received). I'm now back at work, so even if it does find its way to my house, the CD will most probably be sent back to the local post office which I can't get to until a weekend. Even more annoying is that the HMV site says not to contact them until at least 14 days after ordering, and only then will they look into it - most probably re-ordering the CD to resolve the issue!!! If I knew this was their policy, I definitely wouldn't have bothered ordering on the net.
I have been into town 3 times since ordering this CD so could have bought it then, and I have received delivery of 3 other orders from different places since ordering from HMV.
To summarise - I don't recommend ordering from HMV online unless you can't get the CD anywhere else.
An order placed with TESCO yesterday arrived this morning.
If you're relying on anything arriving before Christmas, think again. If they can't even get a chart CD to arrive in less than a week, I seriously doubt their ability to get anything else here before then.
