General Comments

Before I left to go to France I contacted Kwik-Fit Car Insurance and asked if I could get cover as I would be there for 6 months. I was told they would get back to me. They didn't get back to me even though I had given my mobile number. Thus, I assumed I was covered, and since I went to France they kept on debiting my account as I was paying monthly. Again assumption that they were covering me in France.

Four and half months in France and I had a accident. I rang them and was originally told I was not covered. I was also told that they were cancelling my insurance and going to pay back the money they took out of my account.

I asked for tape conversation and proof of them trying to get in touch. They could only provide the tape conversation that I had contacted them and wanting cover whilst in France.

I had to pay for all the costs of repairs, amounting to approximately £3500.

However, I persisted and eventually got a letter to say they will refund all costs, plus interest.

As an insurance company they are useless.

As a repair company they are even worse.

    If you're comprehensive, you automatically have 60 days European cover. It will state it in your Kwik-Fit car insurance policy booklet.

    60days = 3 months, I waited 6 months = 120days.
    Kwik Fit car insurance said they would get back to me, but they never did.
    Kept taking money out of my account though.

    Finally admitted they were in error and paid out, but it took a lot of time, effort and asking for taped telephone calls.
