Good Points

The battery life is great (as they seem to be on most Motorola phones) mine can last 3 to 4 days without a 16 hour charge! It's so simple to use even a two year old could work it properly. It has almost rock solid reliablility & has never dropped a call (except when I ran out of credit but that can be expected). It has been dropped several times but continues working without fail. It has only the features that are needed in a phone.

Bad Points

The ringtones are boring and lacking in number. The phone itself is too fat & heavy for its own good.
It lacks the features of most of the more modern phones.

General Comments

I first got the Motorolla M3788 as a suppliment to my contract phone (as pay as you go phones have cheaper text messages). The phone is based on an age old design, my mum had one of the earlier versions of it with the cool flip down microphone with exactly the same features as this one (only in a phone about 4 times as large!). It's ugly, featureless, but the reliability of the phone when making calls is rock solid, its just so tough! You would need a sledgehammer to really do any damage to it whatsoever. As a first phone it would be great & unless you really wanted any funky, entertaining (but ultimately useless) features that more advanced phones have then you may never need to replace it or the battery!
