Back brakes scretching

General Comments

I have had my Vauxhall 'New' Tigra 1.4i since Mar 2005, and the back brakes have made a terrible noise when reversing. After taking it to Vauxhalls I was told its very common for the brakes to be noisey on this car ! As long as you stop - safety is important and I totally agree! At the same time you dont expect to pay 13K and after 6 months for the car to make these noises. I would be interested if anyone else has had this problem ??

hi, yes i have a tigra, which i bought 8 months ago, and have taken it in 3 times, and am still waiting for them to tell me the cause, i have been told this is a fault.

I got my new Tigra Sport 1.8 last April & have also had my brakes checked due to excessive noise. Was told the noise is due to the material used for the brakes which builds up on the disc. Was told to take it to the jet wash (which made no difference).
Not the best reason for people to turn round & look at my car. I love my car, but when braking in reverse it sounds like a seal.

After recently taken my Tigra for its first service. I was told that they were bring kits out to sort the reversing noise out... lets wait and see..........

I have had my 1.8 Sport since brand new and I have the same noisy brake issue. I have had endless trouble with the roof.

Hi - a relief to see someone else is having the same problems - I have just spent 4 hrs at a main dealer only to be told that it is 'normal' for brakes to make a nasty grinding sound - the car is 4 months old! Would be good to hear from anyone else who is having the same problem - Vauxhall are also saying 'all cars make this noise' - well I've had several new and used cars and never heard this!
