General Comments

These Logitech X-230 speakers have gone back to ebuyer for a refund after 48 hours of listening. I have kept them for this long to compare them to other speaker systems around the house and I have to say I prefer my daughters AIWA 10 year old micro-hifi ! I have high standards in audio and these speakers have really disappointed. So much for the much vaunted 'incredible value'

   If you have high audio requirements, hi-fidelty, you need to be purchasing brands such as NAD, KEF, Mission, B&W. You also need to be spending at least £200. This price bracket will buy you decent bookends. These will need to be mounted on speaker stands, preferably filled with sand and on cones. Alternatively you will need to wall mount them securely on brackets. Then you will need oxygen free cables. A decent power amp. Seperate pre-amp. What sort of hi demanding audio quality did you seriously expect to obtain from spending £40 on a set of computer speakers from logitech. I have them, as well as my 'hi-fi' (mission/marantz) and I feel they have excellent sound quality for the price. I have heard much, much worse in this price bracket.

   Did you know that you can adjust your bass and mid range on your computer? The less delivery bass, the more output you can drive without distortion. They are not Bose or B&W, BUT when set up right, they can give you a decent level of sound and quality.

   The Logitech X-230 are CHEAP PC speakers. The sub is excellent for the money, but the satellites leave something to be desired. I have the subwoofer bass set just above minimum, and I have set a slight treble boost on my PC equaliser, and they sound fine - more than adequate for listening to music and the radio while I work.

   You bought it off eBay. Those speakers must have come broke or something, get some new ones and check out the great sound they deliver.
