Good Points

Accurate; Hefty; Really Sharp Looking; Great 2-Stage Trigger; and more than anything else - FUN!

Bad Points

A little tricky to load. I wish the safety were on the right side of the gun.

General Comments

After reading so many terrific reviews of the Beeman P3 air pistol, and wanting something quiet to shoot inside my apartment, I bought the Beeman P3 without hesitation.
Opening the box, just one look told me I'd purchased a class act. Made from some sort of molded polymer over a steel frame, the gun has no appearance - or feel - of plastic. It FEELS metallic.
Hefting it for the first time, the impressive weight of the gun made it seem like the real thing, and it didn't look like an air gun either.
Loading the gun takes a bit of practice, and the trick is to get the pellet inside the breech, which is located within the confines of the upper barrel. When pulled open this is at the FRONT. Then 30lbs of pressure charges the gun as you push down on the barrel to close it. The fit is very tight and well designed, and loading becomes easy after a few tries.
I found that it took a hundred or more rounds to break in the two-stage trigger - at first it seemed to be single staged. After several hundred rounds, the trigger has a lovely "sweet spot" and I know from the feel exactly when it will fire.
The gun is deadly accurate, and just powerful enough (about 400 FPS) to be useful without scaring the neighbors (who have never complained, despite some pretty thin walls). It has a very nice "pop" when it fires, and its compensator actually works, making the weapon practically without recoil. This helps accuracy greatly.
All in all, the advantages of this gun over others in its class (including price) make it an excellent choice for either target shooting or plinking.
Highly recommended.

James is right on target! I bought this gun in a combo package so it came with a *MOUNTED* Beeman 2x20 scope. This'lil gun is stupid accurate to the point of taking any challenge away. No recoil so no problem there. If you can't hit what you want with this gun you need a German Shepherd dog to lead you through life!!*LOL*
