Clone of the best "out of the box" springer made the AA TX200. Great trigger, build quality, stock, almost everything!!!
Bad Points
Stock doesn't fit my hands that well, but it's not that big of a deal.
General Comments
I have just got my Xisico B40 air rifle today, and I must say that I am very impressed with this rifle so far! It is of course a copy of the very famous Air Arms Tx200. Mine is the .22 cal version. Here is the review!
1. Stock and outside - The stock is a nice matte finish. Woodgrain is very nice indeed. Finish is almost perfect. The stock is very uniform and nicely fitted. Cheekpad is well sculpted. My only complaint is that it is made for a bigger person, and my thumb hits the cheekpad when gripping the rifle. There is no plastic!!! Everything is metal. Blueing is nice too. Not as nice as a more expensive rifle, but still nice. Comparable to the b50/51 series PCP. Action is nicely fitted in the stock. Overall feels very nice!
2. Action - Uses the underlever cocking method with anti-beartrap and auto-safety. Cocking motion is a little rough, but will smooth out with a tune or over time. Pushing the lever back into position is actually much more smooth than cocking, which leads me to believe that the piston chamber might be a little rough or short on lube. I will experiment at a later time with this. Anti-beartrap releases with the holding of a button. Safety is released with the push of a button. Pellet fit into breach is something to note. Mine is very tight with both pellets I've tried, and takes a good amount of force to get them to sit in the hole. Not a big deal though.
3. Trigger - Trigger is nice out of the box! First and second stage are predictable and very lightweight. I estimate it around 1-3 pounds, but can't be sure because I don't have a scale. I would say it's about 2/3 the weight of my b51 trigger. Trigger is a little rough, but feels like metal on metal so a little lube might do the trick, and even lighten it up a little more! I will experiment on this at a later time. I think with some professional work it could be a great trigger!
4. Firing - This is the second best part! From pulling of trigger an incredible chain of events occur with this rifle. First, a smooth reward recoil happens with little to no forward recoil. Next, all that is heard and felt is a soft smooth deep "thunk". The pellet leaves the shrouded barrel almost silently, and can be heard moving through the air. That is how silent the action is. The pellet hitting its target is louder than the whole firing process. Recoil is one of my favorite things about this rifle so far, simply for the fact that it feels more like a powder burner than a springer! Recoil is comparable to a .22lr high velocity or magnum round.
5. Accuracy - This is the best thing about this rifle! Simply amazing from a recoiling springer. As mentioned above, most recoil is rearward, so it feels like shooting a traditional rifle. I have a pic of groups obtained at 15 yards. Just for reference the squares are 1". 3 groups of 5 were shot, and out of those 3 groups 3 pellets in each group went through the same hole! You could call the other two "flyers". My best group was sub 1/4" at 15 yards. This was rested on a piano bench inside my house. Yes, my b40 seems to like being rested! My off-hand accuracy was a little less, but mainly due to the rifle's heavy weight. I was moving all over the place and managed consistent 1" groups at 15 yards. All groups were done with CP 14.3gr .22 die #7. So far I am very happy with accuracy!!!
6. Power - Velocity is hard for me to measure because I don't have a crony, but I estimate velocity in the low 700's. The pellet hits with great authority and absolutely pulverized my backstop. A little hard to say anything else because of the lack of a chrony. Definitely powerful though!

on 2nd Mar 2006Hi, at 70ft there is not much drop, but I like to shoot out a little further from there. It is very consistent and accurate. If I really concentrate on being accurate then I can put pellets in about a 2" circle at 50 yards. It can easily put them all through the same hole at 10 yards. It is definitely more accurate than me!

Hi
Just got one of the first B40's in England. I am very impressed. It is accurate, solid and very hard hitting.
I would recommend this gun, although it's a little rough around the edges compared to my HW80.
Great value for money!Sifu456
on 9th May 2008I found this review helpful because it was a great detailed review I like the way you outlined the events as you explained the rifle. i agree with your finding and add that most have found away to open the loading port with a dremel tool cone shape stone or a dowel and sand paper. It doesn't affect accuracy.
Great detailed easy to follow review. I may copy your style.
