General Comments

THE best decks made. Ever. Don't even bother wasting your money on anything else. You'll only be disappointed (unless you're getting Vestax PDX-D3's. But I'd still get these). So heavy you'll never jog the needle, even if your hands are made from concrete and you have the dexterity in your digits of an Elephant, and so durable you'll never need to buy another set as long as you live, as long as you take care of them (i.e. don't chuck then out of windows or hit them with a sledge hammer) and get them serviced once in a while. They'll keep spinning long after you're dead. Every mix, every time. I don't think I can sing the praise of these any more. Oh yeah. the SL1210 look nice, but the SL1200 are just sexy. Get them get them get them.

Technics decks are excellent . If you are using them for mobile work you'll need proper flight cases. It is best if you remove them from the cases when dj'ing although I know other DJ's just remove the lids and plug them into the mixer. If you do this why not use cheaper decks. You lose the subtleties of of the deck's reproduction. I prefer to sit mine on concrete paving slabs then a bed of foam rubber.
This usually counters the worst of tables and bouncy dance floors. Use a spirit level to get the balance right. Learn how to maintain the decks and they will last a DJ's lifetime.

    Dude -
Tell me your name isn't actually bend over!
I thought you'd be too busy making skin flicks to bother djing.
