General Comments
My JLMS XJ-HD166s DVD drive turned out to be a waste of money. It won't read any discs (CD or DVD), and Windows XP says it has no transfer rate! It has always made a few weird noises as it struggles to take information off the disc, but it finally gave up the ghost a couple of days ago. R.I.P.

Since Lite-On (or now JLMS) has come on the scene I have used them without any problems. I have a CD-RW and a DVD-ROM (no need to burn dvds ... the Lite-On-JLMS XJ-HD166S (DVD-ROM) is in the HCL here.

Picked up a lite on JLMS XJ-HD166s 16xdvd rom drive .So far no errors but read speed on rip is slower than the pioneer which was also a 16 x, it would rip at 8x, and the liteon averages...
