Good Points

Very reasonable price, our boys would have stayed all day. Delicious ice-cream that has to be tried.

Bad Points

The food is limited and quite pricey, although it is all organic/fair trade etc. You could take a picnic and if the weather is bad sit in the barn, however this may be busy during the summer season. Not a suitable place for children under 3 or 4, or for kids that don't like to be active.

General Comments

The Cream O'Galloway in Dumfries and Galloway is a fun day out for families. It consists of an organic farm which makes ice-cream on the premises. You can get tours, and there are often events on. However we go for the excellent adventure play area. It costs £3 for kids and £1.50 for adults. As you exit the main building there is an adventure barn with what looks like a very boring pile of hay, but it has tunnels and passages through it, and the younger kids love it. Then onto Level 1, and you can get there by The Flying Fox zip wire (for an extra charge), or go over the gorge via the wobbly bridge. If you are nervous there is a route down below you can take. Level 1 is a mini assault course with bridges and walkways built in amongst the trees. It is great fun for kids and grown ups! Level 2 is a larger assault course, which is better suited to young teenagers and the more agile amongst us! Level 3 is a very high structure that has a great view when you get to the top. This is also linked to a huge 3D maze of tubes, tunnels, and climbing frames.
