General Comments

The Specialized Fuse BMX is a pretty sweet bike. I rode the 2005 and thought that was pretty good, but this feels better with stronger pedals that don't break. I have not had it for too long, and I have mainly done some ramp work with a little bit of vert. The bike feels really solid and tight. If you would like to know how much it weighs, I reckon about 28-29 pounds. I could be wrong, but it is pretty light for a bike that can take 6ft and a 100 kilos of me!!

I thought about a Condor PL1 or a Mirra Pro, but had a go on this and it felt just right. The crank feels really sweet. I think for a complete that you can buy, you won't do much better. I wanted a bike that would be a bit of an all rounder in terms of being able to do several different things as vert, ramp, street, and a bit of flatland. As for looks, I think this looks better in the metallic blue, and this year they have even put a front brake on it!

Is it worth it? Well there is quite a choice really at this price point (£500), which is a reasonable amount of money, but for what you get it is pretty good. It's down to choice really, and getting to have a go an different bikes to find out what you need. For me the specialized felt the most natural straight away, and I felt confident on it. I am not young (29). I have had BMX's since about 1985, and I have broken a few in my time, but this feels like one of the very best I have ridden. It is not always about what name is on the side, but about what does the job and whether it can take the punishment you throw at it. This is holding up very well. Go and buy one!!
