General Comments

We arrived just before noon for our lunch stop at the Little Chef in Shrewsbury. We left at 13:40, having had one course.

We got a table, as other customers were later turned away, they were fortunate. I ordered Fish and chips, my wife had the veggie breakfast and the kids had jumbo fish fingers.

Whilst waiting for our food, it became apparent there were problems at this restaurant - some customers were being turned away. The staff did not appear happy.

When the food turned up, the fish batter was over cooked, the fish inside was pathetic and watery, it had no taste. The bread had crumb's in it from toast.
Similarly the kids Jumbo fish fingers were deep fried, not very healthy.
My wife was not impressed with the breakfast, it was greasy and again over cooked. The drinks we received were palatable.

The service was terrible, and I heard the cook call our meal 3 times before it was delivered to our table. Tables were not cleaned quickly, and the staff (It looked like they had a cook, a trainee, a manager and two staff) showed no interest in the customers at all.

The price of the items on the Little Chef menu is high matched with the quality, and it makes the food very expensive for what you are given.

We have used this Little Chef before and have always had good service, but will not return again.
