Airtours changed terms and conditions of booking with 3 days notice.


General Comments

We haven't even started our holiday with Airtours yet, but here we are writing a review of our (poor) experience so far! It doesn't bode well...

3 months ago we booked a one week holiday in Fuerteventura with the children, specifying we wanted to be near the sea and pool.

About 1 month ago our return flight time was changed to 4 hours later, meaning we now return at about 11:00pm with a 5 and 6 year old. Not ideal, and it will be disruptive and difficult with the children, but we realise with charter flights that this happens.

Then, 3 days before our holiday, we were told that the accommodation where we are staying is shutting the pool for sanding and repainting, and there will be no pool to use at our premises.

This is appalling given that children are barely out of the water; and a day in the pool is the best part of their holiday. Now, instead of looking out at an inviting swimming pool, we will be looking out at work men, ladders and pots of paint.

It is not good enough that significant work like this isn't planned and notified by both brochure (and Travel Agent, if used). They will not offer compensation, but only a full refund so that you can book another holiday. (Yeah, like that's going to happen when you holiday during kids half-term, and have 3 days notice (during which you work full-time) to book another holiday.

Very poor Airtours.

Abysmal.
