Good Points

Great clarity through out all music types and at all volumes. Great looking speaker especially with fronts removed. Easy to drive with any decent amp. Almsot indescructable build quility on both cabinet and the drivers. The price of these speakers is great when you consider the cost of new speakers delivering anything near the sound quality will be in excess of £1000.

Bad Points

The weight of the speakers can be a problem, getting spares is hard, you need to have a big space for these speakers to sound their best as they are on the large side (you may have to pacify your partner by letting them place ornaments on top of them).

General Comments

The saying the old ones are the best is a bit of cliche but in Celestions case this period of manufacturing was their golden time.
You can listen in great detail to classical music picking out instruments with ease, rock music sounds alive and unfazed, although dance music is not my forte-when the kids use them it sounds loud and their friends think the sound is awesome.
If you are going to buy a pair of these speakers check how much the postage will be as they are very heavy, make sure the drivers move freely with out any bind, audition them if possible to make sure there is no rattle, check outer speaker rubber for signs of deterioration.
