Excellent handling for a large car.
Tons of useful gadgets.
Sports and Manual modes, and gear changes are on the steering wheel buttons.
The BMW 750i sport is really growing on me with ownership. Having just completed the 1200 mile running in phase, I can now really start to exploit the engines full rev range, and give it some serious welly. Despite all the gadgets, the engine is still the star of the show with its low down torque and free revving nature.
The auto parking brake is really useful in traffic, allowing the driver to take his foot off the brake. The parking brake is released on pressing the accelerator.
The only slight criticism I have, is the auto gearbox modes are on a button on the steering wheel. If they were on the gear lever as in other BMW's, they could be accessed without having to find the right button. Same with the manual gear change, the buttons are well separated from the rest, but the experience isn't quite as tactile as it is on the paddle shift systems. Not a major gripe, but it makes me wonder, why change something that works well? Sometimes innovation makes things worse!
Overall, the car does a great job of being a luxury car, and providing sports car performance and handling. Possibly the best compromise between the two available?
