General Comments

I have to be honest and say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Kuramathi, it truly is paradise. We had a bit of a bad start as the resorts larger boat had broken down, and we had to transfer from the airport to the resort via a smaller speed boat. I have sea legs, and I must be honest I found it tough going! However, we did get the seaplane back and found it to be an excellent service, so I'd advise paying the extra for the plane, particularly if you're fresh out of sea legs!

The resort itself was first class, and I honestly could not find fault with it. The accommodation was excellent, and our room boy was just superb. We always had clean room towels twice a day, and clean beach towels every morning. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful, as were all of the staff.

We stayed in chalet 46 and had to walk less than 100 yards to get to the beach, which was never packed or busy. Sure you could see other people, but they had their little piece of paradise and you had yours!

The only drawback to the resort is that there are two other separate resorts on the island, and this meant that you had to pay if you wanted to use any of their facilities such as the gym, swimming pool, restaurants or bars. It's honestly a small price to pay, and besides the quality, quantity, and choice of food at our restaurant really meant that you never got the same meal twice in the entire two weeks, so you never wanted to go elsewhere. The all inclusive drinks covered pretty much everything apart from expensive spirits. The Vodka was Smirnoff, and the rum was Bacardi, and they didn't skimp on the measures either!

Some advice... The staff do like to be tipped, so please don't take offence at tipping these guys, because it's really how they make their money because their wage is extremely poor! Also don't bring shoes; you won't need them, sandals only. Do bring Jungle Juice, as the bush flies, not mosquitoes, can be rather annoying!

The last thing I have to say is that I'm going back! I loved it that much, and really can't wait.
