Zero decks, and a few others companies are great, but if I had to pick my favorite, just because of the boards they make, it would have to be Zero. I currently have the Zero American punk deck. This is my 4th or 5th Zero. I go through decks pretty often. So far this is probably the best one I've had. Lots of pop, not as flat. This one is the right size for me, and the graphic is sweet and patriotic.
When I first got it I could tell by the way the board looked in the concave that the Graphic was printed on backwards. I know this for a fact because the O in Zero is supposed to be the tail, and the Z is supposed to be on the nose. The thing that told the truth was by the paint placed on the top of the deck. It was exactly the same as on the bottom, yet it was placed on the narrower nose side, (the side with less pop) upside down. Since most skateboards are painted by a human who rolls a press over it, they probably just put the board in backwards. This seems to me to be a big problem with most pro decks. Sometimes the graphics are perfect, and sometimes they're off a little.
I have had my Zero American Punk Skateboard for 5.5 months now, and I have no major cracks, but one small stress crack under the back truck (nothing to really worry about.)
Zero's to me are the best boards out there for a serious street skater, or stair set skater. They aren't really designed for tech or ramp skating. Just huge stair sets and big drops.
