Good Points

The Peugeots have little or no rust on them and make them a great first car. They are cheap to insure and handle very well. The brakes do let the car down alittle bit but if you uprate them then I don't see a problem.

Bad Points

To be honest i can't even think of anything to put for bad points because there just isn't any at all.

General Comments

I had a Peugeot 205 GRD diesel, for a diesel they are very nippy and extremely cheap to run and insure. I have now changed the engine in it and added a 1.9gti engine fitted with a nitrous oxide system and a K&N air filter, It gives it roughly 180 - 190 bhp. 0 - 60mph in about 5 seconds. Doing this kind of modification is not cheap and is not insurance friendly, im 22 years old and i spend £3800 a year on insurance and over £100 a week on petrol, the car is fitted with a gti body kit 16" alloy wheels and lowered suspension along with other modifications to many to list. My advise would be if you are short on money get a clean 1.8 GRD diesel Peugeot 205 they are cheap to run and insure and can keep up to much bigger engined cars, later on if you can afford it get a bigger engine installed rather than buying a peugeot 1.9 or 1.6 gti because fitting a 1.9 gti engine in it is better because you get the added benefit of more room due to it being a 5 door but same amount of power. (Below where i have put 2 stars for practicality that is based on my 1.9gti engine conversion and nitrous oxide kit, but if it was for what used to be a 1.8 GRD Peugeot diesel then it would have been a 9star rating) There are plenty of extras to add to peugeots below are a few web sites to look on just to give you an idea. www.rgmstyling.com www.directcarparts.co.uk www.airspeed.uk.com www.larkspeed.com www.autofive.co.uk hope this review as been helpful to you

Does any one know how I would have to go about fitting a 1.9 GTI engine into my diesel van.
