Good Points

The bar at Evripides stays open 24/7, so if you want to make friends (and you will do), your in the right place! The beach just opposite is terrible, but if you walk along the road a bit to the one shop and restaurant, the beach there has water sports and free sunbeds!! To go up para-sailing it costs about £40. If you ask the boss (The Dad,) he will lend you some goggles to look at the fish. The water is so clear, it's wonderful. The mum is very quiet, with a softly spoken Greek/American accent, and she doesn't say much, but doesn't really get much chance to say anything with the dad and the son to compete with! She will talk when she gets used to you! This is a family concern, even Grandma (The boss' mother) is one of the cleaners, and she never seems to go to bed. Eyes are on you all the time! For all your shopping needs, go to the supermarket in town, Lewies. You can get all your water, toilet paper and more, and not get ripped off! (All the locals use it) It's 5-6 Euros for a cab into town each way. Bar Street is the best! It is loud, and you can drink until you can't stand!

Bad Points

The flights to Kos are terrible! Arrived about 6am in the morning at Evripides. The bar as usual (Open)! The son was running the show. If you are directed to the right of the bar to your room, your in trouble! We stayed in room 208. The cooking facilities are basic, and the shower had to be fixed up with a bit of nylon washing line that I had taken with me. The toilet seat was broken. The mozzie screen, there wasn't one!

General Comments

The Evripides Village Hotel in Kardamena Kos is not to bad. The family work very hard, 24 hours a day for 6 months, when the resort is open. The beach opposite is terrible, but you only have to walk a bit to find a nice bit. The water surprisingly is very cold in Kos? Outside temp about 112f, 35c or there abouts. Town centre Kos beach, very crowded, packed in like sardines, and too close to the beach side restaurants. Hire a Jeep from Nikos next door to E.V.H (not related to Dad)! This costs 280 Euros for a week, fully comp and breakdown. If you do breakdown, phone and they will find you and pick you up! Seb hire and Lukas in town are expensive, the same from them costs 360 Euros!! When you get your Jeep, go along the road in the airport direction to Paradise beach, it is lovely. It also has toilets and a great bar/restaurant. It looks like a castle on a hill with steps made out of pebbles, so watch your step! Kefalos is nice quiet and picturesque, with great views of Turkey (yes your that close), but it has a pebble beach not sand! The army base is a stones throw from E.V.H, and sometimes you can see them running in their full kits, in that heat! There is a volcanic Island just opposite E.V.H, and that is where Nikos was born (he now lives in L.A. USA). They do trips there, and the beach there is fab. Behave yourself or Nikos will throw you out!! Ask for the new rooms to the left of bar, they are air conditioned and modern, try and blag it, but don't push it if your only staying for a week!! The pool stays open from 9am until 7pm, and the kids pool is great and well looked after. Sunbed cushions will cost you 3 Euros per day, but the beds are free. Enjoy your holiday.
