It was that bad we tried to come home!!


General Comments

I never like to get involved in anything of this nature normally but I feel it is my duty to comment on the hotel, yes there are 2 Karbels one small and one big we stayed at the large Karbel hotel and it was the worst holiday of our lives!

Olu Deniz is not my idea of relaxing it's a dump (in my opinion) the holiday rep told us on the coach journey to the hotel to look out for the beautiful scenery of Turkey, well I looked and I looked and I looked but nothing? Just hovel, broken buildings and barren land. Once you get to Olu Deniz the view does change slightly and your hopes pick up:-

You get to the hotel, your disappointed that it's not what you thought it would be, but hey give it a try your on holiday.
You can only try for so long before you have to give up!

Our stay was for 2 weeks we gave up and decided to COME HOME after 6 days (we decided we would rather save the spending money we had left and use it for the rest of our holiday at home) it turned out to be more of a difficulty than we thought and after a lot of talking with the tour operator we were offered another hotel. We accepted and spent the rest of our stay at the Asena Beach hotel.

This move did improve the holiday slightly as we also found "Armeds water pipes" on the beach front - a must try if you do go. As nice as the staff at the Water Pipe place are it wouldn't be enough to make me return to this place, the beach is rubbish, the Blue Lagoon isn't worth the effort and looks much better in pictures, and there was a smell of sewer at night wafting through the air, although it wasn't constant it still isn't what you want when you take your romantic walk!

I wouldn't take the risk of trying this place for your holiday, I wish I had read more reviews as I can now see that there are quite a few.
