Good value, walnut stock, iron sights con plastic, good base for power house tuning, easy to strip down.
Standard spring tires quickly, trigger a bit dead but no worries.
Well I bought the Cometa Fenix on 04/02/04 from J S Ramsbottom, West Yorks UK. I bought the rifle as a knock about rifle, I was going for a BSA but the walnut stock and genaral looks and price turned me. I mostly use it for target shooting down my club and formal FT. After a while with wild shots I suspected that the spring was not doing its job so decided fit a OX Kasu spring ! Not as simple as one would expect after cutting off 4 coils and some fileing and emery cloth to reduce the diameter so the spring would slide freely into the piston sleeve to a engineering fit to sliding fit you have to take the 4 coils off to get the sear to catch. The spring top hat flops about i.e. you can hear it but no worries. After a few shots it starts to settle down and you realy can appreciate what a decent spring can do for your Cometa, as long as you do your part. It's a springer so remember a relaxed hold and a must is the follow through. Clover leaf groups on playing card pips @ 25 /28 yds when im on; I've been on FT shoots with guys A/A S400s / HW IOOs etc and the Fenix is well up with them with a Nikko 4x12x42 aboard. I also own 2 A/A springers a TX 200 and a Pro sport. What I love shooting. The build quality of the Fenix cannot compare with these, but at half the price or less it will give endless pleasure to look at and to use as to precharged guns. I've a BSA Spitfire and a FN lighthunter 12 what I think is a bit of a girly gun, pretty and too easy to use. But I much prefer shooting the springers, no charging gear and what's the cost of a spring and a piston seal now and again? peanuts and you can do the job yourself. I would recommend anybody starting out shooting to go for a decent spring gun ie Cometa, Bsa, HW light weight models.
