Good Points

Excellent sound quality for an MP3 player.
Very thorough menu screens on the 20GB iPod.

Instructions for setup not all inclusive!


General Comments

For an MP3 player, I am very impressed with the sound quality on the Apple iPod. I did use AAC encoding and a 320kbps bit rate with a 48,000 sampling rate. I could not imagine using anything lower. You do sacrifice space, but I have so far amassed over 500 songs, and still have 15GB of space left at the above bit and sampling rates. I have a Sony MD player/recorder that can out perform the iPod, but that's like comparing Apples to Oranges. An MP3 player is still an MP3 player, and a Mini Disc player is like playing the original CD.

To sum it up: I have owned my iPod 20GB for 4 days, and I love it for its portability.

Bottom line: If you're in the market for one, go for it. It's worth the $300.
