Pick-ups hum a bit; could be grounded better.

General Comments

The Fender Jazz Bass is an awesome bass guitar!

I went into my local music shop with every intention of picking up a Fender Precision bass, and walked out with the Mexican-made Jazz Bass.

This guitar has a really solid sound, and the fretboard is extremely easy to access, even for someone like myself with small hands. I've been playing bass for almost twenty years and NEVER felt the need to buy a new bass (I had still been playing an old Ibanez Roadstar bass, that is absolutely KILLER), until I picked this one up. And I've played literally hundreds of different basses in that time span.

For less than $500, this guitar sells itself.
