Presthaven sands did not have the courtesy to admit that anyone had even completed a complaints form with me. After 3 weeks of waiting for a response I telephoned them, and the next day received a letter from a person who had scribbled their name at the end of a letter, obviously not legible and not typed underneath their title.
Our caravan at Presthaven Sands Haven Holiday Park had no smoke alarm - it was smashed on the floor. All the mattresses on the beds were disgusting and stained. The smell in the so called dining area was beyond description, and the whole area was absolutely filthy. The carpet was so dirty you could not walk without shoes, and we had to cover the seating with our clean dog throws to enable us to sit down. We asked for someone to come and see this caravan, but nobody came. When we arrived we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our key, after being dismissed by the receptionist.
BEING SPECIFIC ... dirty caravan which had a smell of months of not being cleaned. Broken smoke alarm, broken shower, mattresses not fit to sleep on, couches too dirty to sit on without some sort of protection, dirty carpets, old clothes under the caravan outside. What else can I tell you?
I stayed there for 2 nights, and it was a nightmare! In total we spent 8 hours in that caravan, and the complaints procedure, as you can see does not work - the letter I received, in the last paragraph reads "I do hope that despite your present feelings of disappointment"... No explanation about the state of our accommodation, or how they had suddenly found my complaint after 3 weeks.
