denis buckley's Review of Flymo HT600 Electric Hedge Trimmer

Good Points

Looks the business. Branded product. Long blades. Long cable. Not heavy. Nicely balanced.

Bad Points

Worn blades after only 80 sq. m. of hedge. Prone to jam when confronted with thick twigs.

General Comments

I am astonished to find a machine from such a notable manufacturer unable to cope after 40 sq. m. of Leylandii and 40 sq. m. of beech. The blades on the Flymo HT600 electric hedge trimmer are undoubtedly the problem, and material quality is the issue. Also, the design of the blades is like a clasp, which means that if they can't cut through a twig, they will jam, making the motor squeal for mercy until you let go of the trigger and spend the next few minutes clearing the obstruction. The rubber on the handle is already starting to fray, which takes some believing in a machine with only a few hours work on it.
