- Value for money

Short.
Bad Points
Smaltzy, sentimental tripe. And I'm supposed to be one of the girlies that this book should appeal to.
General Comments
How did The Bridges of Madison County become so successful? I rather suspect that there are many more intelligently written 'Mills and Boon' romances.
The characters are shallow, the story unbelievable. But worse: what is the point of this? We are left with no feeling for either of the main characters, a dull dislike of the locals and the husband. Passion? Certainly not here! Bland, clich d writing a-plenty though.
Did Robert Waller write this book on a very poor Creative Writing course? If so, find somewhere else to enlist.
The writers of Shrek had more of an idea.
