Near to the Karlina restaurant, which has nothing to do with the Land of the Kings hotel.

General Comments

I returned this morning from a 2 week holiday at Land of The Kings Hotel in Paphos Cyprus, and I was glad to be coming home. I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel, but the least they can do is tell the truth in the brochures. There was no air conditioning in the rooms as we were promised. Our room had poor lighting, stained furniture, and the bathroom window was held in with wet toilet paper!

The waiters at the Land of the Kings restaurant were brilliant, but the owners of the hotel and it's restaurant went out of their way to make our lives a living hell, and all because we went out of the grounds to eat one night. We were self catering, so we could eat where we liked I thought, but if you do not eat at their restaurant and go out of hotel grounds, they will treat you like dirt. My daughter one night was sitting in the bar in the Land of Kings own restaurant, and was about to go to the dining area to order. She was about to tell the waiter what she wanted when the owners wife came over and told her to get out, and that the waiters had no time for her! She was escorted off the premises by this woman, and my daughter is 18 years old. The place is like a concentration camp. If something brakes it's not fixed. Our toaster literally blew up, and when the lights on the stairs stopped working, we had to walk from the top floor down in pitch black for 4 days before they would fix it. For some of you that might be unlucky and have already booked, I suggest the Karlina restaurant, which is a short walk down the road past the hotels market. The staff there are brilliant and can't do enough for you, and they really make you feel at home. The owner is brilliant, and if it wasn't for them in the Karlina, our holiday wouldn't have had the inch of enjoyment it did have. As for the Land of the Kings hotel, it is known to the local people as the land of the pigs, and is a total waste of time, space and money.
