Credit card charged for wrong travel dates. Could not get a supervisor to resolve the situation.
August of 2004, I tried to purchase a ticket with called 1800 Cheap Seats to attend my aunt's funeral. When I did, the wrong dates showed up but my credit card was charged. I immediately called 1800 Cheap Seats and got the runaround. The customer service rep told me that she could change the dates she would have to charge me the change fee (which was an outrageous amount). I told her it was not my fault that the wrong dates appeared. I asked to talk to a supervisor. She told me that no one was available. When I finally got a supervisor (a day or so later), she said it was the customer service rep's fault but that because it was past the 24 hour window, they could not give me a credit. Whose fault was it that a supervisor was not available when I called immediately?! How convenient, right?
Anyhow, I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. I then contacted my credit card company (Amex) explaining exactly what happened (giving dates and times of each phone call, etc.). The next month I was pleasantly surprised to receive a credit from Amex. Cheapseats did nothing!!
