The components on this bike are fabulous. The original forks (Marzochi) were replaced with Rock Shox SIDS. The Easton Elite frame is super lite and very strong. This bike weighted in at 23.5lbs new. This bike has been through numerous endurance races and propably has 10000kms on it and it is still very reliable and a pleasure to ride.
The only bad thing on this bike was the front shock due to having to be rebuilt a least 5 times before swapping out for Rock Shox SIDS.
I just purchased the Norco 1999 Torrent bike from my brother who has maintained this bike meticulously. It has a lot of riding on it, but as soon as I rode this bike I had to have it. It shifts so smooth (like hot butter) with the rear XTR derailler and front XT. I have owned newer bikes than this and they don't even compare.
The lite weight of this bike make it a pleasure to ride on long trails.
If you can find one take it for a ride and you will understand my love for this bike.
