General Comments

WE urge everyone to stop using Ryanair. I used to think the airline was ok for budget travel. However, not anymore. We were forced to wait at Rome Ciampino Airport for 3.5hrs for various lies the ground staff provided us.

First, they said they could not find or contact the crew members to fly the plane. (What a joke! how can it be possible for an organisation not be able to find their staff? and a pilot is a professional job, do you really think they will just be uncontactable?) After hour of argument with people, the ground member said he needs to get some coffee, and will be back to update us with further information. Anxiously we waited in the queue. He disappeared. One hour later, he came back with the same news with a little twist. He still said he cannot find the crew members, and if they do get them before 12am, we will be able to fly after 30 mins. Otherwise we will have to wait until next morning around 6.30am! IN ADDITION, he said he was just informed that there was a technical problem with the aircraft! (After few hours? I just cannot buy it. How can an airline be so technically incompetent? They only found out the technical problems hours later? What if that they only found out technical faulty later during the flight at mid-air? Well we all, passengers, have to suffer the consequences of an airline incompetent error - air crash?) It is just ridiculous that a commercial airline is unable to provide good standard of technical and customer services.

Further to our dissatisfying explanations by the ground members, they announced the flight at a later time would be departing ON TIME. Due to our luggage already loaded to the "faulty" aircraft, we are not able to use the later flight that is going to leave on time. We argued with the ground members, as you might expect, nothing he can do about it, he said. We just have to wait if the crew members will eventually turn up and the aircraft technical problem solved. Then we might have the chance to leave Rome midnight or else we will have to stay in the airport until next morning. The ground members do not really care.

The issues here are they are dishonest about the information they provided to us. I am sure people are willing to accept if flights are delayed or cancelled with proper explanations and valid reasons. However, to make up lies, it is just unprofessional and we should never accept that kind of customer services.

We urge everyone STOP using them. We should encourage those airlines with good customer services and competent aircraft technical checks. We might be able to save a couple of pounds to use the airline (which is not always the case in terms of saving money) But to put our lives to an airline which is not competent technically, it is really a silly idea just to want to save some money.

STOP using Ryanair - that was my thought when we safely touched down at Stansted Airport - 2.30am (4 hours later than the scheduled time!).

I think the same thing goes on with all other airlines. Do not just think this happens with the budget flights. I have travelled with Ryanair about 40 times and never had any problem. I also travel with easyjet and have had no problem. The only time I have been delayed was when on a BA Flight to Turkey when I was delayed by 4 hours.
