Massive savings made if you use your phone overseas. I just came back from 2 weeks in Italy, and as I am a dentist I was regularly in touch with my Practice, and I saved at least £200 over the 2 weeks period. Mainly because it's FREE to receive calls when abroad.
It's Pay as you go, so you will need to top up using their online top up engine. It's only available in the UK, therefore my brother in the USA could not buy one. You need an unlocked phone to use it.
The SIM4travel International Roaming service is about saving money for the traveller. You don't pay to receive calls, and when you do make a call it's much cheaper than taking your UK mobile with you. The SIM card costs £29.95, but on balance it saved me heaps of cash.
I would recommend using the service. I bought mine for £29.95, but I just found out from a friend who sent me a special offer that might be worthwhile taking a look at. A promo code from SIM4travel that lets you buy their Sim's for under £20 (normally £29)... seems like it's a test code. If you're taking your mobile phone skiing this winter it's worth a sniff. We're going to buy them for the group going, so that we can get around roaming charges when calling each other. Looks like the card can reduce call rates, the PROMO code is: PROMO$$TEST
