Good Points

Cheap and cheerful, a phone for the miser.

Bad Points

Ill-thought-out connection between functions.

General Comments

Motorola really shows its thoughtlessness with this sad product from the end of the nineties. Clearly the design team failed to appreciate the need for the most basic end-to-end functional design -- "obviously"-needed functions are completely missing from the handset. For example, one cannot access the phone book while sending an SMS, so first one has to write down the receiver's number on a piece of paper, then compose the SMS, then reenter the number. Nor can one "reply" to an SMS: the number must again be typed in. What were Motorola thinking of when they produced this handicapped version of a mobile handset?

Both my wife and I have this phone and we never have problems with the SMS functions. After using the message editor, send message and scroll down to 'Find Entry by Name' and off you go!

I agree that it is a good phone and we can't complain, we only paid £15 each for ours and that included £5 of calls on Bt Cellnet.

Perhaps reading the instruction booklet will help you to understand how to operate the phone.
