Good Points

plays most purchased DVD's and VCD's, and also plays DVD+R

Bad Points

Does not play DVD-R. I have tried at least 10 different brands, and no joy.

When you use the zoom, it also leaves a great big number on the screen that won't go away.

General Comments

The Sony DVP-NS355 has been a disappointment! As name brands go, Sony is up there at the top, but this lower end of the market machine disappoints! The zoom feature is sub standard, and the inability to play DVD-R is unbelievable!!

I would recommend that you shop around and find out as much as you can before you buy! I wish I had!

The person that left the last comment was must be mad - I can play DVD-R discs in mine but he's probably used the ISO Function on his DVD RW on his PC rather than the MOVIE or VIDEO settings to record a video to a DVD-R. I have one, and they are robust, slim, stylish, sound great and give a decent picture quality.

Yeah - the guy who said this doesn't play DVD-R is incorrect and need to learn how to burn DVDs!!
