Roomy, economical, totally reliable.
Err....none.
Tested several cars before purchase - VW Polo 1.4, Vauxhall Corsa, and the Honda Jazz 1.4 SE. No comparison, really. Now 3 years old and 30,000 miles, the Jazz has been economical (the computer says about 47 mpg), totally reliable, easy to drive, cheap to insure. Still looks like new. Servicing is a bit expensive, though, and I have my doubts about the main dealer.
We have used it to transport the entire contents of a student's flat, do a round trip from Aberdeen to Hertfordshire (about 1,100 miles) with 3 people and lots of luggage. Quite happy on the motorway, and comfortable. Handles well on twisty roads, and is light and airy inside. Good visibility for parking and reversing. Light clutch, good brakes. Acceleration adequate. Rear seat folds (in two sections) to provide a flat floor with room similar to a small van. Or back seat cushions can fold up to enable tall plants to be collected from the garden centre if you wish.
A bit expensive - but compare what you get - 4 electric windows and an electric sun roof, anti-lock brakes, remote central locking, etc. Updated model is even better but you now pay extra for the sun roof.
