Secure and stable browsing. Smallish download. Thousands of plug-ins and themes.
Not much really.
I have used Mozilla Firefox for almost two years on various operating systems, and I find it great to use. Tabbed browsing is not really my thing, but it can be very useful to have around.
The real advantage for me is the security and stability of it. It has never, I repeat never, crashed during use, unlike other browsers, and it is just not vulnerable to the sorts of attacks and compromises that Internet Explorer has.
The only interface issue I had to get used to was that "Favorites" were called "Bookmarks" again (I've used Netscape way back when), but to me this is a more sensible name for them.
It comes as standard with a search box, which enables you search from anywhere on sites like Google, Amazon, and eBay etc... You can even add your own custom search sites and search them with two clicks.
The other thing that is great about it is the small download (4.5MB), whereas IE can be ten times that and more. The extensions/plug-ins that are available are excellent in terms of range, but varied in terms of quality. Being a web developer as well, I make use of the excellent web-developer tools, and also things like Ad-block, which enables you block types of adverts within pages. Spoofstick, which instantly shows you what site you are really on, is great for anti-phishing, and Flashblock which hides all Flash material until you decide to play it.
For me the best thing will always be the fact that it's not tied to any one operating system, and thus I can be sure that when I am browsing it's all I will be doing. Nothing can attack my system through my browser, no cracks, hacks, trojans, worms, or anything else unless I want it to.
Setup is a breeze - download it - run it (importing your IE favorites along the way if you want to) - use it. It tells you when it, and any extensions need updating, and helps you do this. You can customise it's look and feel with any one of hundreds of themes, which are a lot more than just colour changes.
