General Comments
I've banked with the Yorkshire bank for over 6 years, I've got several buy-2-let mortgages with them and my own residential Mortgage, several Bank accounts with over 20k in credit also credit cards ect.
It started over 3-4 months ago when I got a bank statment from them for my Rapid repayment mortgage I was £122,000 overdrawn on this Account. The interest for the month was £631.60, when I saw this I thought it was quite high so I called the bank and asked what interest rate I was paying. I was told the interest rate was 5.54%. I did the maths and it just didn't work out. Following month same thing called the bank asked what intrest rate was for the Rapid repay mortgage again was told 5.54%, did the maths again and still it didn't work out, checked the Yorkshire Bank mortgage rate on the internet and there it was 5.54%. Following month samething, So I called the bank and told them that I was not happy and wanted someone to look into my mortgage, I was told that someone would look into it and call me back. Two days later no phone call, so I called them and was told that my interest rate was 6.1%, but not to worry because they had now changed it to 5.29% due to the interest rate cut. I asked why I was paying 6.1% instead of 5.29% and was told that I had an old account code and that this mistake had been over looked I asked about a refund of the difference and that was met with a lot of ooh errs, for 2 years this has been happening.
I taking my all of my banking else where, I've lost almost £2000, I'm glad I spotted it when I did because if I hadn't in 25 years I would of over payed by £30,000.
