GP Looks, one of the best looking 50cc sports bikes available from a racing pedegree.
The two stroke 50cc sound of the motor, and insurance premiums for the younger rider.
The expensive fully synthetic oil it burns.
The Aprilia RS50 has to be one of (If not) the BEST looking sports 50cc bikes on the market. It obviously shares the looks of its bigger Aprilia brother, the RS125. The dimensions are fairly similar to the 125, though the 50 is shod with skinny wheels, and tyres. Its presence on the road is of a much bigger biker, and nobody generally realises that the bike is only a 50cc. The only giveaway is the sound from the tiny two stroke motor. I had a full moped licence riding this(so I didn't need the 'L' Plates), and it was surprising how many nods I got from bikers coming the other way on their super bikes!
The engine has to be run on top quality oil, and warming up the engine is a definite must, if you want to avoid having an engine seizures.
For the time I had the bike, It did not let me down at all. It started first thing in the morning, every time, no matter how cold it was. The only issue I found was that, riding around with the headlight always on, it seemed that the bike struggled to keep the battery charged at peak. Every couple of days, it was best to keep the bike on the optimate charger overnight to keep the battery in a good charged state.
