Good Points

Quick and easy installation. Made good use of what was a bad analogue signal (big plus point)Can display signal strength and quality for each digital channel (usefull if comparing signal with/without aerial booster), good stable picture and sound .

Bad Points

Only one scart and no audio outs (handy if you have an amp), no page down on remote, programme guide takes a bit of getting used to, takes approx 3 secs for channel changes, no four wheel drive!

General Comments

Bought this Daewoo DS608P set top box after it was recommended by the sales person who seemed to have a gripe about the other model I was considering (which was a Grundig).
Set up was a breeze, although the first attempt missed some channels (ITV1 etc), but picked them up on the second attempt. Was a bit unimpressed with the layout of the remote and there doesn't appear to be any way of accessing a manual tuning menu (not that you should really need it)
Didn't like the layout of the on-screen TV guide, especially trying to find out the now and next on other channels. Overall though picture and sound quality good and with an RF loop through might suite those without scart sockets or wanting to use a second TV. I'd opt for the Grundig though if you're thinking or using an amp or want to record a superior picture through your video.

I found this equipment very easy to use, with both a good picture and sound. Much better than the Phillips that I also tried, which altered the colour. Like any new hand set it takes a little time to get used to but is well layed out and it does what is needed and no more. A plus is that the on screen menue is very easy to read and transparent, so you don't miss anything on the film while looking to see whats coming next.
If going through a video first, remember to set
this to A1 or A2 to tape the digital picture. Some people make the mistake of trying to tune their video into the digital signal as if it was an extra terestreal signal. Doing it this way may reduce picture quality. A1 & A2 are normally found A1,A2,0,1,2,3,4 etc.. by using the scroll button rather than individual butons found on your video hand set. At less than £80 from tesco, if your not happy with the results, take it back. Thats their guarantee, so give it a go.
P.S. It would be better if it had dual scart and dual digital signal so you could tape and view different digital channels at the same time. But then none of the makes have this yet and may not for some while. With free films, history programs and half the rugby would cup on free view, can you wait that long?
