Good Points

They give credit when no one else will.

Bad Points

Excessive interest rates. Heavy penalties for repaying early (if you ask what the penalties would be in this situation, they tell you it is the balance of the capital, plus one months interest - Not true).

General Comments

I believed all the details which had been passed to me previous to agreeing the terms with British Credit Trust Car Loan, however it seems not! There are endless hidden charges. You may think this as a personal opinion after reading other reviews, but bear in mind other people are going on about how good their customer service is, and not about the rates they are having to pay!!

   As I said to someone earlier, if you have poorer credit, you SHOULD pay higher rates! If you had really good credit, you would not have had to use BCT. I would not want to pay the same rates as people with poor credit. ive worked hard to keep a spotless history, I expect better rates. You should be grateful for companies like BCT who take risks in giving people with defaults and CCJ's credit. The reason for higher rates is because they are taking this risk, and many people don't repay their loans! They loose money as well you know, not everyone repays their loans. Some people are not grateful fr second chances!
   
   If you didn't like the interest rate, you shouldn't have signed the agreement. Your rate is NOT hidden, its on the agreement when you sign at the dealer. People don't go on about rates because they know if they had better credit, they could get better rates. I work for a finance company who gives loans to people with poor credit and we do charge higher rates. How can they expect to get the best rates when they have defaults and CCJ's? What planet are you on?
   
   And the fact of the early settlement of capital plus 1 month penalty interest is correct, its the legal way of doing it and the way EVERY finance company must calculate their figures. Accusing a finance company of not working this way is a serious thing. Don't throw allegations like that around!
