I love Ford Escorts. I myself own a 1974 MK1. I have upgraded from a 1100cc to a 1600cc cross flow gt - it is running very nicely and with a 3in straight-through sounds very grunty, haha.
Bad Points
The only bad thing or things I can say about Escorts or even for all older cars especially ones made 30 odd years back is that if you ding them or don't have parts it is very hard to find replacement panel and parts for them. Also no power steering!!
General Comments
The MK1 shown in this photo is absolutely beautiful. I still have a long way to get to that stage with mine. I have already spent (Newzealand dollars)$7000 and I am about to spend another 4.
