Good Points

Aromatic, assertive, makes a perfect martini.

Bad Points

More expensive than other gins, too assertive in drinks where the gin needs to take a back seat.

General Comments

Bombay Sapphire is, in my opinion, the perfect gin for a martini. Its assertive flavor, striking nose, and aromatic complexity make it the shining star of gins. On the downside, it is a bit too assertive in mixed drinks where the gin needs to share the spotlight with other flavors. But when mixed four-to-one with dry vermouth stirred with ice, it cannot be beaten. Add the classic speared olive (or an onion for a "Gibson"). While I prefer a twist of lemon peel with a Tanquerray martini, a cocktail olive pairs perfectly with a Bombay Sapphire martini.
